For this project, Osakio served as host and editor for Top Ballieman: Football, a series on VRT MAX and YouTube. The concept was simple yet powerful: we searched for the best 'ballieman' (ball wizard) in Belgium through 1v1 duels. In close collaboration with VRT, we took ownership of the entire process: from concept and organization to filming, editing, and hosting. In total, we produced three episodes. From that long-form content, we translated everything into multiple short-form videos for TikTok and other social platforms — maximizing the value of every shoot. The series turned out to be a great success, generating millions of views on TikTok and building a strong connection with a young audience.
For VRT and Sporza, this project went beyond simply launching a new series. Their goal was to reach younger audiences in a way that truly resonates with their world — while gaining a deeper understanding of what drives performance on TikTok today: which formats work, why editing and pacing matter, and how to deliver sports content on social in a way that feels genuine.
We built the format around the energy of the 1v1s. Short, intense moments, fast yet deliberate editing, and a hosting style that feels natural. No classic TV approach, but content made for the platform itself.
Throughout the project, we worked fully hands-on: testing, analyzing, and refining. From three episodes, we created multiple shorts that each built their own momentum on social.
The result was not only strong performance, but also valuable insights for future digital sports projects. A collaboration where we made a real difference both creatively and strategically.
